Sky and Weather
Thoughts and feelings are weather. You are the sky.
Based on a classic ACT metaphor for the noticing self. The wording here is original.
The sky
Tap a kind of weather
The sky
You are the space it all moves through.
Why this works
In ACT this is called self-as-context: the part of you that notices thoughts and feelings, and isn’t any one of them. Thoughts and feelings change like weather. The one who notices them stays.
It doesn’t mean the weather doesn’t matter. Storms are real, and some of them are brutal. It means there is a part of you big enough to hold them while they pass.
