About
A different kind of practice
Baseer Maroof, LCSW — Cambridge Muslim College
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina. I work exclusively with men, drawing on a spiritual framework grounded in my training in Sufi Psychology, alongside CBT, DBT, ACT, and psychodynamic approaches. I don't see people as their diagnoses — most of what brings someone to therapy is a reasonable response to an unreasonable situation, not a flaw to fix.

- BA — University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- Sufi Psychology — Cambridge MC
- NC License — #P014894

Who I work with
I work with men, generally between the ages of 20 and 50, who are internally motivated to grow and improve their well-being — not just going through the motions because someone else told them to.
- Men navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, or a hard life transition — divorce, fatherhood, career change, loss of community.
- Men ready to take an honest look at themselves and do the work, not just vent.
- Men who've avoided therapy because it felt clinical, cold, or impersonal.

Pay what you're able
I accept most major insurance plans through my private practice at ACAP Raleigh. If you don't have insurance or are limited financially, I can offer a sliding scale, where you pay what you can afford.
Sliding-scale payment accepted via Venmo (@baseerM).
